Japanese Fireman's Hat

This Japanese fireman's hat is hand woven and stencil resist dyed on the inside (sashiko) and indigo dyed and hand quilted with an elk horn button in the back to fasten the front flap open. It dates to the late Edo period, mid 19th century, and measures 22" wide by 24" long. It comes with a custom stand and sells for $1800.00
