Gold Lip Pearl Shell Ornament

This old and used chest ornament is from the Maprik area in New Guinea. The shell is pierced at the center through which parrot feathers are fastened with orchid fiber. The ends of the shell are strung with wrapped fiber and nasa shells. The ends of the fiber tie around the neck. The entire piece measures 6 1/2" wide by 14" long and it comes with a custom base. $2500.00
