Bete Mask

This powerful and aggressive mask is from the Bete of the Ivory Coast. Its abstract hooked and lobed forms create an extremely forceful appearance. The surface is covered with a patina which shows the wear of numerous ritual encrustations. It measures 16 inches high by 8 inches wide by 8 inches front to back. It is formerly from Galerie Vanuxem in Paris. $7500
