Baining Mask

This tapa dance headdress is from the Baining of New Britain. The tapa comes from the Mullbery tree and is stretched over a cane superstructure. The surface has been painted with a red and black pigment. This amusing abstract animal form measures 18" high by 7" wide by 15" front to back. It comes with a custom stand and sells for $1800.00
