Antelope Mask

This antelope mask (karikpo) is used by the Ogoni people who live between the Niger and the Cross River regions of Nigeria. It is worn by an acrobatic dancer in ceremonies honoring an ancestor. It is beautifully carved and painted and has a lovely old patina. It dates to the early 20th century and measures 18" high by 6" wide. It has a custom mount and sells for $1800.00
